Weekly project updates on the road to world domination

Week of March 6, 2026

Hey Shani & Jemma,

This week has been focused mostly on the Xero integration. We've added integration for pulling the Chart of Accounts (previously this was just a mock example), and we also now filter to only show direct costs (thank you Shani for sending through the spreadsheet and colour coding them). We've also improved the interface for managing estimates, and added more options for hiding/sharing info with clients and what gets shown on the invoice.

Next week we'll be focused on expanding the reconciliation interface and adding capabilities to move invoices between events and some of the workflow improvements Lauren suggested.

Please let us know your feedback!

Xero Chart of Accounts Integration

The big one this week, no more manual account mapping! The Xero Chart of Accounts is now connected direcrly to estimates.

Accounts marked as 'Direct Costs' in Xero (the green ones you shared with us Shani) will be exposed in the estimate so line items can be directly mapped to costs in Xero.

We also improved other aspects of the Xero integration, including automatic tracking code push and two-way contact/supplier sync.

Estimate Templating

Now when you create an estimate, it's automatically populated with your default estimate template!

The initial template was populated using the spreadsheet provided by Shani.

You can override your default template at any time by selecting "Save as Template" in the estimate interface, which saves the current estimate as the new default template.

Improvements to Client Sharing

You now have more control over what you share with clients.

Last week we added client view, which lets you share live versions of estimates with details stripped out such as unit costs and buffer amounts.

This week we added the "hide line items" button, which means that only the section total is shown to clients, not individual line items.

Fixes and Improvements to Estimate UX

Fixes and Improvements to Estimate UX

We've been working closely on the overall estimate creation experience to make it as seamless as possible.

Lots of little improvements this week to make things faster and snappier:

  • Searchable expense categories and supplier lists so it's easier to find what you need
  • Set the expense category at the section level (instead of by line-item)
  • Improved visual layout of the estimate
